BBRAeNews No.66 - MPK Summons Kindergardens

Dear Residents,
MPK Summons Kindergardens

Some Newspapers photographers visited our Precint Jenaris at Bandar Botanic to take a first hand look at the sudden mushrooming of kindergartens and child care centers here, yesterday morning.

Based on some residents’ enquiries as to the latest status of the kindergartens and child care centers, the BBRA have later in the afternoon obtained a reply dated 2nd March, 2009 from Majlis Perbandaran Klang regarding the status of the 6 kindergartens and child care centers. The letter is attached for your attention.

You will note the actions taken by MPK, that is by a notice dated 30st January, 2009 to the owners to cease all activities and operations.

In fact MPK's 3 departments have all issued notices and summonses in January and February but as you can see this morning, all the centers have ignored the notices and continue to function.
What a good example to the children ....... Then again parents of childrens failed to understand that illegal or yet to be licenced kindergardens may encounter problems with their Insurance Companies, as Insurance Companies do not recongnised illegal or yet to be licenced kindergardens.

It is shocking to note that out of 6 centers, only 1 center that is Tadika Kristal at No. 10, Jln Jenaris 1 is licensed by MPK while the balance 5 have been issued notices not to operate. Regretably 4 of these centers choose to ignore the notices and continue to operate. Residents and BBRA must send out a clear message to the respective authorities to seriously vex all the applications and ensure that all by-laws, regulations and conditions are strictly adhered to before any application can be considered.

Immediate neighbours of these centers should voice their objections to the authorities immediately. Such objections should be in writing addressed to the Yang DiPertua, Majlis Perbandaran Klang with copy to Bandar Botanic Residents Association at No. 49, Jalan Kiara 8/KS6, Bandar Botanic, 41200 Klang.

ACT BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. This is a good opportunity to voice your objection, if not, as the saying goes, FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE.

Dear BBRA,

Syabas. In doing the right thing for the community, there are bound to be some with differing opinions in the approach. Its okay for it is important to get the problem resolved. You just cannot pleased everybody all the time.

Parents who send their children to such centers at their convenience without bother on the legality of the centers stand to lose much if something goes wrong. Crying over spilled milk will then be too late. the same applies to MPK if appropriate actions are not seen to be taken.

Immediate neighbours have the opportuinity to collectively voiced their objections and if they miss this chance, then they should blame themselves.

Residents should not pass off this chance to register their objections against these kindergartens, illegal or legal as such centers have no place in a residential area.

There are so many empty shophouses at Botanic East and Botanic West. Many have been vacant for more than 4 years already and their rentals should be cheap. The added point is there are ample parking spaces.
